Private Schools Fees in the UK Increase

A new report by The Independent newspaper states that UK Private School fees have increased by 8% in the last year, with families now paying £6,000 per term on average for day pupils (£18,000 per year).

Understandably with price rises like this, the number of new pupils joining Private UK Schools as day pupils or boarding pupils (where the cost has also risen) has dropped by 2.7% since last year. This is the biggest fall since the Independent School Council (ISC) started collecting data in 2011

It is the policy of the newly elected Government to add tax onto private school costs . This will make it virtually impossible for many parents to send their children to conventional private schools. Add to that increasing costs of uniforms, sports kits, books, lunches and the costs are often far higher than the annual termly fees advertised.

Online schooling is a sensible alternative

At LEO Online School we offer a UK curriculum with UK trained teachers but for a fraction of the cost. Our classes are small (the maximum number of pupils in any class being 15).

As a Cambridge Approved School we offer IGCSEs and A levels in a wide range of subjects. Students are supported in their application to University with a personal mentor. All classes are live and also recorded so that parents and pupils can watch them back. Testing is frequent and rigorous and parents receive regular reports.

We also offer scholarships for outstanding students.

If your child is between the ages of 5 and 18 we would love to hear from you to see how we can help.
