The global pandemic in 2020 was an excellent example of the “Work From Home” concept in real life. We discovered that employees didn’t only not ‘slack off’ but performed better at their jobs from the comfort of their own home! Research suggests working from home can actually be more productive than working in an office. This has been shown in studies conducted in recent years.
This is also applicable when it comes to general education. We have witnessed the steepest peak in GCSE and A Level results following the self-isolation during the Covid-19 outbreak, even though stress levels were high, and the education system suffered from several, severe disruptions.
Let’s check out the benefits of online schooling!
Flexibility
This is a big plus from several perspectives. Firstly, having a cold is no longer an excuse for missed lessons, as all lessons at LEO school are recorded and can be reviewed at any point! In addition, all homework is sent out directly to our students (so your dogs can’t eat it)!
Another case where flexibility comes in handy is the option to go to school from anywhere! You can be in Maldives, while your children are finishing off their school term, and think about how much you saved on those plane tickets you bought for one day before the school term ends.
Parental involvement
Every adult has a subject they completely despised at school, and later fell in love with. It leaves us with a heavy feeling of how things may have been if the teaching style was slightly different. Well, by opting for an online school, you can easily raise any concerns and get in touch directly with management, and we will do our best to accommodate any queries. Essentially, you have control when it comes to your child’s education!
Organisational skills
Being ready for a lesson rests on the shoulders of our students. They are encouraged to make sure all assignments are completed on time, that they come prepared for lessons and their notes are kept organised. (And no, bus delays are no longer a problem!
Equal opportunities
LEO School is registered with Cambridge Assessment International Education, who are an official provider of education. Your child can sit exams alongside all other UK-based students and receive certificates which are accepted by top universities around the world. We make education accessible to everyone!
Do what you love
We focus on relevant subjects required for the success of our students, and outside of school they can focus on hobbies they want to do. In gym class of an offline school, your child may be required to play a sport they are not particularly interested in, familiarise themselves with the rules and spend an entire term on it (unless they get a note). At LEO school, students are encouraged to sign up for classes that they dream of participating in locally and spend time doing what they love!
Getting to and from school
One word: School run. No traffic, no pushing and being squashed on public transport and most certainly, no scary alleyways when getting to and from school. It is time consuming, uncomfortable, and in some cases- unsafe.
Safe environment
Bullying happens everywhere and is an epidemic. Online schooling can be a haven for students facing bullying. By removing them from the physical environment where bullying occurs, it offers a safe space to learn. This can be especially helpful for students who are targeted due to appearance, social anxieties, or other reasons that might be magnified in a traditional school setting. Online schools also allow students to work at their own pace and mute classmates during lectures, further minimising the chances of bullying interactions. Also at LEO School we have a very serious ‘No Bullying’ policy and is significantly easier to investigate and resolve. It will never impact a school day again!
