How we support Sixth Form Students
At LEO School, we know that many of our Sixth Form Students will go on to Higher Education and many want to study in a UK university. This means that the pastoral support that students experience in Key Stage 3 and 4 is continued throughout their time in the Sixth Form.

The UK has some of the most prestigious universities in the world and places can be highly sought after. To help students through this exciting but daunting transition, at LEO School we offer support every step of the way.
At the start of their final year with us, the students are asked if they are interested in applying for UK universities. If they are, then they are given a mentor. This is one of our highly experienced teachers who will guide them through the process. Where possible, it will be a teacher who teaches a subject that they wish to study at Undergraduate level.
The teacher will then guide them through the whole application process, from which universities are best for their subject, to providing a reference for them and advising on financial matters.
For most universities and subjects, the deadline for applications is usually early in the year of admittance, but this can vary, especially for applications to the Universities of Oxford and Cambridge and for certain subjects. Again, the teacher will advise on this.
Should a student have support needs such as Dyslexia, we have teachers who are experienced in getting students into the best universities which offer support once there.
We have a wide range of Cambridge Board International A levels which we offer. In addition, we offer tutoring in English as an additional language and IELTS which proves English speaking, reading and writing competency (for those to whom it is a second language) which is required by UK universities.
